Dear 7th & 8th Grade Parents, August 5, 2008
Summer is rapidly coming to an end and the start of school will be here before you know it. This note is to keep you informed as to what is going on and the expectations for the upcoming year. A few dates you need to keep in mind:
August 13th (volleyball) / 18th (soccer) CCA athletic teams start Fall practices – checkout the CCA website.
August 16th CCA; all school work day which starts at 9:00 am – students can earn service hours, lunch will be provided. We will end around 3:00 pm, come even if only for part of the day.
August 23rd CCA Family Picnic, at the school at noon – bring a dish to pass. Table service and meat will be provided.
August 20th CCA Secondary Orientation – Open House – 6:30 pm, CCA Gym. Meet your student’s teachers; find out what is new in the Secondary Student Handbook (dress code review and other expectations). We will also give out locker assignments that night.
August 25th school starts, come early, don’t be late (7:40 am).
Remember in May your students will be spending 2 nights at Timber-Lee Christian Camp Outdoor Education. The cost is around $75.00. More details to come as we get closer to the event.
The 7th & 8th grade supply list is on our website, www.cornerstonechristianacademy.com. Please note CCA PE uniforms are required, plus chapel shirts; order forms are also on the website (or come in and pick one up). All new families to CCA need to make sure your students’ files are complete’. If you are not sure please check with the office.
Enclosed you will find a class schedule for 7th grade and one for 8th grade. Mrs. Lauriat is the 7th grade advisor and Mrs. Menafee is the 8th grade advisor. In the meantime if you have any questions it would be best to email them to me, often I’m not around my phone; dwhitfield@cornerstonechristianacademy.com. I’m really looking forward to meeting each of you the night of the 20th.
